Lunara is privacy-first. Your sleep audio stays on your iPhone. We don't track you. We don't sell your data. We have no analytics SDK. The only data that ever leaves your phone is what you explicitly opt into (Apple Health sync, AI Coach text summaries) — and even then it's anonymized.
Lunara records audio of your sleep on your device to detect snoring. Audio files, sleep sessions, journal entries, and sleep profile data are stored locally on your iPhone. Audio is never uploaded automatically.
If you grant permission, Lunara writes sleep session start/end times, height and weight to Apple Health so you have a unified record. We only read the data categories you authorize, and we never share Apple Health data with third parties.
When you use the AI Coach, anonymized aggregate stats from your sessions and journal (scores, durations, snore counts, mood, caffeine, etc.) are sent to Anthropic's Claude API via our backend proxy to generate personalized insights. Raw audio is never sent. Free-text journal notes that you type are included in the AI Coach context so the advice can reference them; you can disable the feature any time in Profile.
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are handled by Apple's StoreKit. Lunara does not see your credit card or Apple ID. Subscription status is managed by Apple.
Lunara uses Sentry to capture crashes and errors so we can fix bugs that affect your sleep tracking. Sentry receives only the type of error and the file/line where it happened — never your sleep audio, journal entries, or sleep profile fields. No personal identifiers are sent.
Lunara does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. We do not track you across apps or websites. Our App Store privacy manifest reflects this — no tracking, no IDFA collection.
You can delete individual sessions or all data via Profile → Advanced → Erase all data. Reinstalling the app also removes all local data. We have no servers storing your personal data, so there's nothing to delete from our side.
Lunara is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has used Lunara, please contact us so we can ensure their data is removed.
We may update this policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced inside the app.
